Gage Conference Logo

The Gage conferences are named in honour of the late Professor Peter Gage and aim to re-establish an earlier series of Curtin Conferences organised by Professor Gage.

The major objective of the meetings will be to bring together the local community of researchers with interests in the meeting topic, from a variety of perspectives, in a relaxed low-key environment that encourages interaction and discussion. Similar to the US Gordon Conferences the meeting will be based on a live-in eat-in format, maximising opportunities for interaction whilst making the meeting economical for participants. Also similar to the Gordon Conferences, abstracts will be not be published in any form. We are particularly keen to encourage participation by students and early-career researchers and provide an opportunity for them to present their work.

Each meeting in the series will focus on a particular topic, with topics potentially cycling on a 2-3 year cycle. Current plans are:

  • 2009 The first conference in the series was on Ion Channels and Transporters
  • 2010 The second conference in the series was on Muscle
  • 2011 We plan to have a second meeting on Ion Channels and Transporters
