The 2012 Gage Conference will be on muscle with the major themes listed below. The programme will be based largely on submitted abstracts so is under development but there are already a number of confirmed speakers, below. We anticipate that the program of oral presentations will accommodate most senior researchers who wish to give an oral presentation and some students. Poster presentation sessions will be the other major component of the scientific program and may include short talks.

The Conference will be held from Wednesday April 18th - Friday 20th 2012 at Canberra Boys Grammar School, ACT.

Sessions will start at 11.00 am 18th April and finish at 3.30 pm 20th April.

• molecular mechanisms in Ca²⁺ signalling in heart and skeletal muscle
• excitation-contraction coupling in health and disease (cardiac and skeletal)
• muscle as an endocrine organ
• muscle aging and injury
• muscular dystrophies
• inherited myopathies
• Other neuromuscular disorders (myotonic dystrophy, FSH, inflammatory myopathies, inclusion body myositis, and non structural mechanisms of muscle weakness).
